Starting Out

I suppose to start out, I should tell you what I currently do use in my classroom. I have a website set up through my school district. All teachers have a page. Many do not update. I try to update mine at least once a week. I post important papers, assignments, pictures, etc.
My students take Accelerated Reading tests on the computer daily. They are able to log in, find the program, and take the test. Our school uses NWEA tests that are computer based. The students take them 3 times a year.

My students get a limited amount of computer time during their media time. Our school purchased a mobile lab of laptops for the elementary to use. 1 set of computers for 21 classrooms. Scheduling has become very hard as more and more teachers are beginning to use the computers. Every year I have my students create a slideshow with Kidpix program.

I am very excited to start using more technology in my classroom. Please give me ideas as to what you do in your classroom.

Hello! I am embarking on a new adventure and I hope you are will follow along. I am currently taking classes through Minnesota State University - Mankato to obtain my master's degree in Educational Technology.
